  Sophie F. Stagg (nee Caltagirone), 87, of Carlstadt for 61 years, passed away suddenly at home on March 18, 2023. For over 25 years she worked for Becton Dickinson, lastly in Franklin Lakes as the Customer Service Representative in the Consumer Products Division, retiring at the age of 68. Sophie was a dedicated parishioner of Assumption Church. She was a member of the Rosary Society and a former Past President. She was very active within her church community. She would count the collections received every weekend and maintain all the church linens. She was devoted to her faith and when she could not physically attend Mass, she would watch it on television. Sophie was a member of the Carlstadt Senior Friendship Club and a former Secretary. She also played cards with the club members weekly. She was a member of the Vic Hoofers and a former Treasurer and a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary in Wood-Ridge.   CARLSTADT — Lester P. Stagg, 71, of Carlstadt, died on Oct. 22, 2006.
  Born in Passaic, he was a resident of Carlstadt for 45 years.
  Mr. Stagg was a custodian for Wood-Ridge High School for 11 years before retiring in 1997. Prior to that, he was an adjustor for Continental Can Company in Paterson for 25 years.
  He was a parishioner of Assumption Church in Wood-Ridge.
  He was an usher and member of the Holy Name Society of Assumption Church.
  Mr. Stagg served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of VFW Post 3149 of Carlstadt. He was also a founder and past president of the Carlstadt Girls Softball League.

  Funeral Mass was held in Assumption Church, Wood-Ridge. Entombment in St. Nicholas Cemetery, Lodi. Arrangements made by Kimak Funeral Home, Carlstadt.
